How do I apply for GEMA credits for Corona closing times?

We can take over your GEMA concerns with our GEMA administration retroactively only from 1.01.2021, for your earlier claims (refund of licenses already paid for the lockdown period) against GEMA you have to make the request yourself.

This is how you record lockdown closing times:

Log in to the GEMA online portal at www.gema.de/portal. In the new "My Corona Closing Times" section, you can enter the period of closure for each business individually. As soon as GEMA has this information, you will receive a corresponding credit.

You are not yet registered in the GEMA online portal? No problem - you can get there in two simple steps:

  1. Register as a music user at www.gema.de/register. Once you have confirmed the registration and set your personal password, you can log in.
  2. So that GEMA can clearly and securely assign your customer data to the new user profile, please enter your customer number and the code afterwards.

If you have not yet received a code by mail, you can request one in the online portal after entering your customer number and an invoice or contract number. The code will be sent by mail to the standard address.

You can now use all the functions of the online portal and notify GEMA of the periods of your closures in the "My Corona Closing Times" area.

Important: Please keep the above CODE in a safe place. You can use it to authenticate yourself in the future when making telephone inquiries or to give other employees and colleagues access to the online portal.
